Terrible Two's Already?

Our little lady is quickly showing her independence...and is very clear on what she does and does NOT want. And lately in the "not want" list is diaper changing, diaper wearing, pretty much all things diaper. When it comes time to change her diaper, she quickly flips over and tucks into a ball in an act of civil disobedience. Most excellent.

A beautiful day in the 'hood

58 degrees and sunny. Life doesn't get much better than this for mid-February in the Pac NW.

An interesting perspective

So the other night, I was driving in the car with Faedon when he asked if he could see my iphone. So I gave it to him. And shortly thereafter I heard the sound of it taking pictures.

When I asked him what he was doing he said very earnestly, "Mom, I don't want you to worry that you aren't able to get pictures of this beautiful night because you're driving. So I am going to take pictures for you."

He wasn't particularly pleased with how the pictures came out, but I think they are beautiful. But nowhere near as beautiful as my little boy.

Happy Valentines Day!

Making valentines!

A weekend of boys, boys, boys

Faedon's friends Jack and Ryan spent the weekend with us this weekend - and our house was transformed into one giant Lego-making, SuperCycle-riding, Geotrax-building place of boy fun and general chaos.

Tubing at Snoqualmie Summit

Today we jumped in the car and went out to Snoqualmie Mountain to meet some friends and their kids to go snow tubing! Terry and I had a blast. Faedon enjoyed the first few runs and then became more interested in being the building supervisor of a giant igloo. And Kellyn....well, we don't think Kellyn liked it much at all. She put on a brave face, but we didn't see many smiles. Oh well....maybe she's a late blooming snow bunny? But it was so much fun to frolic in the snow....and as an added bonus, we had 2 passed out kiddos for a couple of hours post-tubing. Always nice to have well-napped children on Superbowl Sunday!

Spring?

While everyone back east is getting pummeled with snow, we are having unseasonably beautiful weather. Sadly, I was in the office today for most of it, but I did peek out the window and snap this picture of the sun on snow capped mountains behind the Sound. I kinda never get sick of that view.
