Faedon's best friend Jack had a birthday party today at one of the local "bouncy places" (i.e., a place with GIANT inflatable structures to bounce and slide on). And after the party, we went with Jack's family to their lake house and let the kids run wild a little longer. Needless to say, a good time was had by all...and we've got two very tired little kiddos on our hands this evening.

Our Whidbey Island Adventure
Yesterday we found yet another beautiful little world within an hour of our home: Whidbey Island. It's a tiny little island with stunning scenery and lots of cute little places to wander around. We took the ferry over in the morning and enjoyed a liesurely drive out to the town of Coupeville, where these pictures were taken. Then, after lunch, some ice cream and some walking around we headed back to Seattle. It's just never ceases to amaze me how much there is to see out here!

She's on the move!
About a week or so ago, Kellyn started crawling. But unlike Faedon, who pretty much disappeared once he discovered his ability to move independently, Kellyn only crawls when it's an absolute emergency...which makes it a bit hard to catch her in the act. As far as Kellyn is concerned, there's no need to walk as long as Faedon is around to fetch her things and the dog is around to provide entertainment...
A big brother's work is never done.
Camping inside
Faedon has been on a camping kick lately - and insisted we set his tent up under his bunk bed for he and Kellyn to play in. He thinks it's super fun that the two of them can hide out in the tent and play and read books. He likes it so much, he's taken to sleeping there even at night! He's pretty disappointed we won't let Kellyn sleep there too, but he is looking forward to her being big enough to camp out there with him some day too.

Vikings!
This week, we took the ferry to Poulsbo for the annual Viking fest. (Originally, Faedon was excited because we were going to see pirates, but the semantics were soon lost on him.)
No pics of the actual festival, Faedon in particular, isn't fond of the camera unless he's otherwise preoccupied. So, here are a few from the accompanying carnival. Needless to say, our little Viking had a blast.

It all began with a ride down th eslide with mom. You can't see the look of terror on his face; it's amazing how fast that gets replaced with, "I wanna do it again!"

The only thing that makes standing in lines with an sweaty-pawed 3 year old, is the look on his face as he rounds every turn.
We passed on the parade, sensing an oncoming meltdown from just enough fun (and one massive burger and fries...) and headed for the truck. No sooner did we get them in their seats, both were out before we even got back on the road.

Later, Faedon conquered the deck and several pieces of furniture, claiming all he saw for himself -- the new leader of 2708 Warren Avenue, N.
