Apparently an age-old tradition to welcome summer to Seattle is the Solstice Festival. Basically, it's a festival that welcomes the sun back in mythic style. The festival starts with a parade that features different artistic expressions of summer and is completely human-powered....meaning all the floats are handmade and either dragged by a team of people or pulled/pushed by people on bikes. But the real reason so many people come to watch the parade is to cheer on the hordes of people riding bikes with nothing on but body paint (and some don't even bother to do that). Anyway, it was a lot of fun to watch....

Summer is here!
