This week's update

I don't have a new picture of us to post right now (thus the generic shot of Seattle) but thought I'd post an update from this week, since this was my first week back at work and Kellyn's first foray into daycare.

So Monday was a busy morning. I was rushing around trying to figure out what to wear while Terry wrangled the 2 kids into clothes. Then we all piled in the truck and headed into the city. Once at school, Faedon was surprisingly protective of Kellyn. He informed us it was unfair to leave her there without any friends, so he asked if he could stay with her. We finally convinced him she'd make friends, so he reluctantly let us leave her in her classroom and headed up to his pre-school room.

Tuesday was Veterans Day and our daycare was closed completely - so Terry tried to juggle his freelance work and 2 kids all day. Faedon was delighted to be home with Dad all day - but unfortunately managed to make it pretty much impossible for Terry to work - making Wednesday a long and busy work-packed day for Terry to make up for Tuesday.

By Thursday, we had gotten into a groove - although little Kellyn has found daycare to be exhausting. She comes home and barely stays awake long enough to eat before passing out for the night. Making new friends is tiring!

So here we are on Friday. Kellyn is home with Terry (we are only putting her in school 3 days a week at first) and Faedon and I took the bus in to work together this morning like 2 little grown-ups. Faedon felt very important sitting amongst all the other commuters and kept asking me why I wasn't working on my computer like everyone else. He also suggested he may need to work on his computer next time we take the bus.

Then tonight, it's pizza night at the Doyles and a lovely long weekend ahead of us. Life is good.
