The Car Show.

Last time we were in Buffalo I promised to take my Aunt Dorothy to show Wanda at an antique car show. She'd done so much work restoring her after Tim died, it seemed a shame not to show her off. (Ok, and I really love driving her; temperamental as she can be.)

So, Aunt D found a show and we booked some tickets; then Faedon and I set off on an adventure.

This being our first show, there was much to learn. I'm not sure I got the best parking spot, but I was afraid if I got her in the grass and then couldn't start her back up, we'd have a heck of a time getting back out. The electrical on this little lady can also be a bit finicky; we lost the blinkers on the way there...

I found my favorite car.

Faedon found his.

All in all, a nice first showing. In my opinion, of course. Wanda didn't win anything, but that didn't tarnish the day for me, or a little boy who was just plain experiencing new things where daddy grew up. It was just awesome to take her for a breeze, as they say.

And, as will happen, all was well until the boredom set in.

Luckily daddy figured that might happen, so he packed the Nintendo and a soccer ball.

Uncle Colin made for a great stand-in when my old legs got tired.

I hope these memories will stay with Faedon for a long, long time. A simple lesson in how to spend a lovely Saturday afternoon.
