Our trip to Deception Pass

Given the economy, we decided to forgo the one big vacation this year in lieu of lots of little weekend trips instead. So this past weekend was our first trip - and we went back to Whidbey island to see Deception Pass (if you click on that, it should take you to more info on Deception Pass). Anyway, the long and short of it; Deception Pass is a strait separating Whidbey Island from Fidalgo Island (a teeny tiny island off of WA). It connects the Skagit Bay with the Strait of Juan de Fuca. But more importantly, it's just really beautiful.

So we spent Saturday in Deception Pass State Park and then headed over the bridge on to Fidalgo Island, where we stayed the night in a cute little town called La Conner. On our way back home on Sunday, we went back through Whidbey Island and stopped at Fort Casey to check out the lighthouse. It was much smaller than I was expecting, but still fun to see.

So here are a couple of pictures of us from the weekend trip. And now we are trying to figure out where we should go this weekend?
