And the garden grows...

This month is being called "Junuary" due to the lack of sun and the unseasonably cold weather so far. And yet, the flowers couldn't care less. The tomatoes, on the other hand, are another story.

I'm not sure what I'm doing exactly; I know the people who had the house before us had a very expensive and needy garden around the house, and we wanted a more natural, indigenous garden. So little be little, we've been replacing things.

The Japanese Smoke Tree (purple, foreground) is the latest addition. Can't wait for it to fill out.

Not quite the hierarchy I was planning on, but I'm very pleased with all the color. Which, if all goes will, should last through the summer.

It's fun, yet maddening at the same time! Another life lesson, I suppose.
