Silverdale, WA.

And another tiny town in the Great Pacific Northwest gets crossed off the list. This week, part of the Kitsap Peninsula. More specifically, the Silverdale Beach Hotel; formerly the Red Lion—part of the fabled chain, no doubt.

The place we stayed is billed as, "A Diamond on the Sea." Dunno... more like a bit of cubic zironia masquerading as a posh seaside resort. (The deserted Chinese restaurant next door is kind of a giveaway.) We had an adventure nonetheless. After all, they had an indoor pool and room service!

The hotel sits right on the sound, and at low tide, we walked about looking for low-tide-type-things.

Kellyn made a striking image on the horizon.

Faedon found tiny mussels on just about everything. (And would you look at the paws on that boy...)

We must have been wandering around for 20 minutes before Ashton realized the ground was literally moving.

Look closely. At the center of this pic, hides a tiny crab. Now imagine thousands of them... All under foot...
