Field Trip

The other day, Terry and I chaperoned Faedon's class on a trip to the "Wooden boats center." Which is exactly what it sounds like - a place that celebrates wooden boats - and has a bunch of them to look at. But even more exciting for Kindergartners, they also let kids take an umiaq out on the water. And if you don't know what an umiaq is, here is a picture:

 But anyway. Here are Faedon and some of his friends getting ready to paddle out in the umiaq.
 

 And then afterwards, each child was able to make their very own wooden boat. Faedon chose to call his "The Clipper." Here he is showing it off.


 

 All in all, a super fun field trip! We are very lucky to live in such a fun part of the world.
