As you all may remember, every year on the summer solstice, we have a huge parade here in Fremont - which is a neighborhood within walking distance of our house. And the highlight of the parade/main draw is the 500 or so people who ride their bikes with nothing but body paint on. It's crazy.
But this year, Kellyn and I went down after the naked bikes went by (really, after you've seen them once or twice you really don't feel a need to see them again...). But we did see the tail end of the parade, which still provided some great entertainment.
First up, a semi-naked, well-painted Batman on some homemade rollerskates!
Next up: a bunch of clever ladies dressed as some kind of of bug, doing a cool dance routine with nothing but law chairs.
And then this: a very cool handmade spider, powered by about 30 people. Very cool stuff.
Lots of other great stuff also - but these were our favorites. :)
Happy Solstice all!
