Queen of Seattle

Last weekend we decided to try a new local adventure - riding the Queen of Seattle! The Queen of Seattle is a paddleboat that is docked about a mile away from our house on South Lake Union. The kids thought it was fantastic - Faedon loved the steam engine and Kellyn loved the calliope music. Mom and Dad loved that it took us out on the water on a beautiful sunny day.

Here's a picture of the boat as we were boarding.

It was classic. And as were standing on the top deck, waiting for the boat to leave dock, we entertained ourselves by watching the seaplanes practically land and take off on top of us.

Then we got a nice view of the houseboats....from the water side for a change (BTW, these tiny little things go for over a million dollars. Who knew?)

And we enjoyed going UNDER the drawbridges for a change, as opposed to always being stuck on land waiting for them to go down. :)

And once the tour was over, the kids enjoyed skipping some rocks while we again watched planes landed and just enjoyed the beautiful day. Not a bad way to end the summer, huh?
