Another weekend, another island

This weekend we decided to visit another island close to Seattle: Vashon Island. Vashon is about 45 minutes away from our house (between drive time and ferry time) - and once again, it's an island that is lush, green and rural and feels like a million miles away from the city.

So, here's a picture from the ferry dock...peaceful and serene.



And then once we got on the island, we had lunch at a cute little restaurant before wandering over to the local farmer's market - where Faedon insisted on being the one who got to push Kellyn in her stroller.





And then, in a bizarre twist of fate, while at the market we ran into a friend of Terry's - a local resident of Vashon Island who commutes from the island into the city. And he insisted we come by his house and see what island living is all about. So we followed him over to his amazing home on the water and enjoyed a glass of wine on his deck while Faedon chased crabs in the water and played with their dog.




Truly, a beautiful day. Once again we were reminded of how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful place in the world.
