Green Thumb Things.

One of my favorite things about moving to Seattle is altogether new varieties of plants to play with. Here are a few that make me happy, and we've had luck with.
I don't remember what this one is, but I absolutely love it. It's variegated leaves are so delicate and it really seems to like where we put it. And now we wait to see if it'll flower.

We just added a few of these for color in the front. I've been calling it Flax, but that's not the proper name. All I really know is that the explosion of color is remarkable.

We have two Clematis; this one's my favorite. I'm always surprised when something so delicate can also be so hearty.

And speaking of delicate, this Lady Finger fern is quite temperamental. It prefers a daily misting rather that watering. And it withstands the wind wonderfully; always swaying. Like bamboo.

And lastly, our garden. Or, half of it any way. We have to get creative with so little space. Here we have four kinds of lettuce, green peppers (which are doing horribly this year), purple basil, spinach, chives and golden sun tomatoes. So nice to be able to walk down and pick dinner here in the middle of the city.
